I am launching our first set of books, the ABCs of Racing, My First Guide to Formula 1TM Racing, on Kickstarter and I wanted to share more on why.
But first let's start with the basics...
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform for creative projects. It helps projects like this one get off the ground by allowing people to pledge support in exchange for early access to products. In my case, that means pre-ordering the kids books and a bunch of other cool rewards.
How does it work?
All projects on Kickstarter have funding goals and a limited time to meet those goals - otherwise you get your money back. 33 days is the number we landed on for our project 😉. Maybe, with your help, we can beat that time!
Why launch pre-orders on Kickstarter?
I chose to self-publish, so Kickstarter gave me a way to share the books with a larger audience, especially given the international appeal of F1. Launching on Kickstarter also provides me with funding to continue growing the Red Racer series (future books are already in the works!).
How do I get Red Racer books on Kickstarter?

- Click “Back This Project”
- Chose your reward package
- Enter your payment details
- Click “Pledge”
