About Red Racer Books

Red Racer Books creates premium children's books inspired by real motorsports. We exist at the crossroads of reading and racing because kids read more when they care about the story, and cars and racing are a pretty reliable hook.

Every title we publish is built on real sport: real tracks, real science, real racing culture, and in several cases, real drivers who co-authored their own stories. We are not a generic car book company. We are a motorsports publisher that takes both racing and reading seriously, and we make books that kids reach for again and again.

Why Racing. Why Now.

Racing is one of the most STEM-rich, human, and emotionally compelling worlds on the planet, and most kids have never been given a way in. Motorsports can feel hard to access for casual fans, but once you understand it, you love it. Red Racer Books helps lower that barrier.

Our books introduce aerodynamics, engineering, teamwork, and strategy through stories kids actually want to read. They showcase the full world of motorsports, including not just drivers, but also engineers, safety crews, designers, and the many people who make racing possible. We build with inclusivity in mind because we believe that if you can see it, you can be it. The STEM learning, the grit, and the big human moments all come along for the ride.

From Andy, Founder of Red Racer Books

Red Racer Books is a founder-led, independent children's publisher based in the United States. Andy Amendola started the company with a simple belief: motorsports has enormous potential to engage and empower kids, and to make reading genuinely fun.

What began as an idea to create the kinds of racing books he wanted to read with his own children first came to life through Kickstarter, where early supporters helped prove there was a real community of families and fans who wanted this too. That spirit of community still shapes the company today.

Since launch, Red Racer Books has published officially licensed titles with NASCAR, IndyCar, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and has co-authored books with professional racing champions. Every book is designed to be premium, giftable, and built to last, the kind of book a family reads together, keeps on the shelf, and reaches for again.
